Verlin Eugene Shinabargar, 82, Lee's Summit MO passed away, Friday, 09/15/2017 at the Groves Nursing Facility, Independence, MO. Services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, evening 9/20/2017 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055 with visitation to follow until 9:00 p.m.. A graveside services with full military honors will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, 9/21/2017 at the Stover Cemetery in Stover, MO. Verlin was born June 25, 1935 in Hopkins, MO to Claude & Dorothy (Harmon) Shinabargar. He graduated from Manuel High School, Kansas City, MO. He served 3 years in the U.S. Army, stationed one year in Germany. He was an Electrician that started his career at Electric Service Company as an employee for 20 years and then became a very successful businessman as owner of Electric Service Company for 31 years. He was a member of the Community of Christ. He married the “love of his life” Dolores Ritchie, July 16, 1960 and they settled in Independence, MO where they raised their family of four children. He enjoyed: family get-togethers at their lake house at the Lake of the Ozarks, boating, fishing, and gardening. He was active with his two sons in Indian Guides and served on Camp Personality Board. He was President for 4 years of the Heart of America Electrical Apparatus Service Association (E.A.S.A.). He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Dolores (Ritchie) Shinabargar, sister-in law Frances Summers (Gary), sister-in-law Cece Shinabargar; children: Verla Hart; Bruce Shinabargar, (Angela), Valerie Shinabargar, Darrin Shinabargar (Rachel). Grandchildren: Cameron Hart, (Ashley), Ashleigh Brinkman, (Dan), Brittany Hart, Ben Hart, Grace Hart, Luke Shinabargar, Ben Seba, (Allison), Andy Seba, (Melissa). Great grandchildren: Colton Hart, Connor Hart, Jadeyn Embry, Sailor Embrey; a close cousin, Charlotte Ruoff (Reece); 2 nieces and 5 nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Jo Nell Shaffer (Francis), Charlene Amos (C.R.), brother, Curtis Shinabargar, mother & father, Claude & Dorothy Shinabargar. mother-in-law, Lucille (Ritchie) Smith.
