Albert Shineman

Albert A. Shineman, 94, of Independence, MO, died peacefully on Thursday, December 11, 2014. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday, December 15th at Blue Ridge Christian Church of Independence; 3625 S Blue Ridge Blvd, Independence, MO. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 16th at Glenwild Cemetery, Cleveland, MO.
Albert was born on January 16, 1920 near Riverton, NE. He went to country grade schools and to Campbell Nebraska High School where he graduated in 1938. He served his country in WWII in the 113th Field Artillery in the European Theater, landing on Omaha Beach six days after the invasion; seeing active duty in Normandy at the Ardennes and the Belgium Bulge. Albert married Ruth (Masoner) in 1948 and lived a beautiful life with her until she passed in June of 2001. Albert and Ruth were members of the Blue Ridge Blvd Christian Church in Independence, MO. Their hobbies included collecting and repairing antiques and holding estate sales. Albert retired from Kansas City Southern Railroad where he worked from 1957 through 1985. After retiring, he enjoyed writing religious articles to share with his friends and for his own enjoyment. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mary (McCoy) Shineman; wife of 63 years, Ruth (Masoner); three sisters, Beulah, Pearl, and Patsie; and three brothers, Gerald, Rayodell, and Merle. Albert was the last one to leave this world to go home and be with God and his family. He has many living nieces and nephews.
