Jake Shipman

Jake Shipman, 85, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away Friday, December 12, 2014. A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 23 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel.
Jake was born February 8, 1929. He proudly served in the US Navy. He lived a simple life working a long career at Panhandle Eastern Pipeline as a Materials Handler in their Engineering Department. He raised two boys and loved his five grandchildren. Jake enjoyed golf most every day of his last twenty years in retirement. He is loved and will be missed.
Jake leaves behind sons, Jim Shipman and wife Jenny of Lee’s Summit, MO; and Rob Shipman and wife Tina, of Greenwood, MO; grandchildren, Josh, Jillian, Hannah, Jacob, and Jimmy; and brother, George Shipman. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Buster Shipman. The family encourages contributions to American Cancer Society in his memory.
