Kenneth C. Shipman, 86,of Kansas City, MO, passed away February 8, 2014. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Feb 13, 2014, at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm until service time. Kenneth was born May 1, 1927, in Gotebo OK, to A.J. and Dillie (Self) Shipman. He attended Panhandle State University, where he excelled in sports, namely baseball. His future looked bright until an injury derailed him. He went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree. He met the love of his life Josephine in church, and they were later married. Kenneth retired from Nationwide Paper after 40 years, to attend to his ailing wife. His dedication and devotion to family and God sustained him throughout his life. Kenneth was happy to spread the word of God, and used his vocal talent to sing His praise as well. He was a very honorable man, and had the upmost respect from all that knew him. Kenneth enjoyed golf, and played on different courses and leagues. He also enjoyed fishing, and Blue Grass music. Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife, Josephine. He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Lisa and Ray Hawkins of Kansas City, MO; and a sister, Roma Ross of Texas.
