Somchit (Som) Saengtong Shirk, 80, passed away from cancer on Saturday, November 27th, 2021 at her home in Independence, Missouri. Originally from Dan Khun Thot District, Thailand, Som relocated to the United States in 1981 with her son Jaruk (Jess) Chanyaem.
Som was the fourth of seven children for Kluab and Poom Saengtong. She attended school for Hair and Sewing and went on to run her own business in Thailand. In the United States she continued her work as a skilled seamstress.
