Coleen Shirley

Edith Coleen Shirley, 72, Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at Research Medical Center. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 22nd at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial to take place in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to East Side Baptist Church Building Fund. Coleen was born February 14, 1933 in Mulberry, KS to Thomas J. and Edith M. (Phillips) Duncan. Her greatest passions in life were her husband, kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Shirley was very active in her church where she was involved with kids and music. Coleen was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, James H. Shirley in 1991. She is survived by her daughter Carolyn Rippee, two sons Jim Shirley and Tim Shirley all of Independence, MO; two brothers Tom Duncan of Mulberry, KS and Clyde Duncan of Pittsburg, KS; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
