Shirley Jean Beeler, a loving mother and grandmother, passed away on December 30, 2024, in Independence, Missouri, at the age of 95. Born on February 21, 1929, in Kansas City, Missouri, Shirley was the cherished daughter of Eugene “Gene” and Ruby Darling.
Shirley proudly graduated from Northeast High School and continued her education at Kansas University, establishing a foundation for her professional endeavors. As a civilian record keeper for the United States Marine Corps in Kansas City, Kansas, she demonstrated unwavering dedication. Throughout her life, her strong work ethic and commitment to her career were apparent, reflecting her profound sense of responsibility and pride in serving her nation.
Alongside her career, Shirley was a devoted wife to her late husband, Ralph “Gene” Beeler, who passed away before her. Married for 69 years, they established a loving home and raised a beautiful family, showcasing the importance of commitment and love. As a dedicated wife and mother, she dedicated herself to her family, ensuring they were provided for and supported. Shirley is survived by her two sons Michael Beeler and fiancé Deborah Garcia and Ricky Beeler.
She derived immense satisfaction from her role as a grandmother, establishing a lasting legacy through her grandchildren: Jess Lundin, Lisa Chronister, Jason Beeler and bonus granddaughter Janessa Keller-Garcia. She also welcomed two great-granddaughters into her family, Ava Beeler and Olivia Beeler. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Beeler; son, Mark Beeler; and her parents.
