Roderick C. Shulze, 51 of Lee�s Summit, MO, left his wife and children to be with our Lord on July 27, 2005, after a brief battle with lung cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Sat. Jul 30, 2005 at Our Lady of Presentation Catholic Church. Visitation will be 6 - 8:00 pm Friday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO. The family suggest contributions to a charity of your choice. Rod was born on Sep 27, 1953 to John and Lois (Ittle) Shulze. He graduated from John Madison Memorial High School in Madison, WI; he then entered the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He was a member of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity, and graduated in 1979. His career in Veterinary Pharmaceuticals spanned twenty-five years, with the last thirteen years with Meriel LTD as Senior Marketing Manager. He received several awards in his career, but considered his greatest reward as that of his family and the chance to work with his clinics. Rod enjoyed his saltwater fish, growing plants and flowers, working on his yard, handing out tootsie pops, making homemade pizza for family and friends and also making stain glass creations. His favorite, activities were challenging his wife to board games, pool tournaments and riding double on their BMW motorcycle .Rod leaves behind his "bride� and best friend, Kelly of their home. Daughter, Heather of Provo UT. Son, John of St Louis, MO and Stepsons Justin and Michael Boyd of Lee�s Summit, MO. His parents, John and Lois Shulze, brothers and sisters, Kathleen, Laurell, Maureen, Roberta and Eric all of Wisconsin. Brothers, Kevin of Denver, CO and Michael of Houston, TX and their families. He is also survived by his beloved dogs Zuzu and Paco.
