Stephen Edward Silvers, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, January 25th, 2023. He was 76 years old.He will be so dearly missed.
Steve was born on September 16, 1946, to Dwight and Mary Silvers. He attended Northeast High School in Kansas City. In 1966 he met the love of his life, Carol, who was attending Van Horn High School. They met while she was working at DiMaggio’s and he went in for a burger. On that day she said, “I’m going to marry him.” Two years later, they married, and from their union came three children: Kathy, Juston, and Stephanie. Steve loved his family fiercely and always made sure to provide for them. He was an incredibly hard worker and a very generous man. He loved people and never met a stranger. In his free time, Steve enjoyed to golf, bowl, and play all types of games. He had a very competitive nature and was a notorious champion of dominos.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents; Dwight and Mary (Barnes) Silvers, and his daughter; Stephanie Silvers. He is survived by his wife; Carol Silvers, his children; Kathy (Jim) Bennett and Juston (Ashley) Silvers, his siblings; Jean Greer, Jerry (Marilyn) Silvers, Lynn (Tom) White, Eddie Silvers, Rita (Rich) Matthews, Mary Jo Silvers, and Kenny (Tammy) Silvers, 6 grandchildren, Paige (Trevor) Bennett, Kenzie (Kevin) Basham, Ashton, Rylee, Wyatt, and Miranda Silvers, and 1 great-grandchild, Nolan.
A memorial service will take place on February 18, 2023, at 10 am at Speaks Suburban Chapel (18020 E 39th St. Independence, MO 64055). A visitation will take place prior to service at 9am. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Stroke Association in Steve’s honor.
