Clarence Martin “Marty” Simpson, age 58, formerly of Bates City, Mo passed away, Sunday, February 14, 2021.
Marty was born on March 13, 1962 to Robert and Lucille Simpson, one of five close knit siblings. The family spent much of Marty’s young life in West Central Missouri area. He would go on to attend Van Horn High School. When he was 18 he met Tammy Wilson. During their whirlwind union a son was born, Martin.
Marty spent his twenties driving a bus for Kansas City Missouri school district. He was a bus driver most of his professional life. He would switch to big rigs later on, finally retiring from Penske. His retirement saw him as a handy man and avid swap shopper. During his career with the school district he met Regina Turner. When they married Regina brought Dj, Joey, and Rico to the union. Raising all four of the boys, they settled into a quiet life just outside Bates City, Missouri. Here Marty tinkered in his garage, rode four wheelers with his boys, or was found to be attending any swap and shop he could find. He was an avid collector of tools and guns. His boys and friends fondly remember him shouting at the TV when his favorite how-to shows made a technical mistake. Marty was a carpenter and could fix, build or teach you how to build most anything. He enjoyed sharing his wisdom and working on projects with his brothers, dad and sons. Marty's laugh was contagious, his witty sense of humor could always put a smile on your face, he loved giving advice and just talking about life and he will be missed dearly by his entire family.
Marty was preceded in death by his beloved mother and father; his nephew Jeffery Simpson and brother-in-law Roger James. He is survived by all four of his sons Martin and Sheena Simpson, Dj and Amber Cairns, Joey Cairns (Ashley), Rico and Samantha Cairns and twelve grandchildren; all of his siblings Bob and Susan Simpson, Nancy Hile, Janet James, and Jeff and Carol Simpson; and an abundance of nieces and nephews.
