Mike Simpson

David Michael Simpson, 63, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2014. A visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, February 7 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the chapel. Mike was born March 27, 1950 in Maryville, MO to Robert and Dorothy (Beck) Simpson. He graduated from Ruskin High School, and attended and played basketball for University of Missouri. He was a real estate agent for over 20 years. Mike was a faithful Christian whose mission in life was to bring those he loved closer to God. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, and helping to care for his grandchildren. They remember him as tender, loving, laid back, bringing a sense of calm and stability, and always supportive with a positive outlook. Mike is survived by his mother; daughter, Kristi Dickerson and husband Bill; son, Michael Simpson and wife Jill; son, Josh Simpson and wife Alex; grandchildren, Deigan Burns, Wyatt, Micah, Maclin, and Brock Simpson; sister, Pat Battaglia; brother, Bob Simpson and wife Sue; brother, Ted Simpson, and former wife, Debbi.
