Arlan Doyle Sindt, 74, of Grain Valley, MO, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022. A visitation to honor Arlan will be held from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m., with services at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 1, 2022, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055. A graveside service will take place 2:00 p.m., at Cameron Memory Gardens in Cameron, MO.
Arlan was born June 14, 1948 at his grandmother’s house in rural Cameron, MO to Doyle Sindt and Ilene (Carlile) Sindt. Arlan enjoyed growing up and working with his family on their dairy farm. He graduated from Cameron High School in 1966 and went on to receive a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Agriculture from the University of Missouri in 1971.
Arlan married Janelle Martin in 1973, and they raised daughter Stacy in Cameron before moving to Independence in 1976. Arlan married his wife, Jeri, in 2006. They enjoyed life together first in Cameron, then in Grain Valley, MO. Arlan spent most of his career with Farm Credit Services as a land appraiser and loan officer. He was an Elder in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and most recently attended the Cameron Restoration Branch. Even when he was unable to attend church, he continued to study scriptures and worked to live life as a reflection of Jesus. Arlan was a farmer at heart. He loved horses, especially Appaloosas, loved riding, and even showed his horse, Misty, in horse shows. He was also an avid guitar player, and a huge Chet Akins fan. He practiced his guitar daily and often played guitar and sang with friends and family.
Arlan leaves behind his wife, Jeri; daughter Stacy (Chris) Newbold; granddaughters Alisa and Amanda Newbold; step son Aaron Jones; sister Lana (Allan) Turner; sister-in-law Alicia (Jim) Negaard; and nieces and nephews Kimberly (Michael) Vinson, Darren (Chandra) Turner, Andrew (Jill) Sindt, Aaron Sindt, Ammon Sindt, Amy Sindt, Michael (Kirstin) Fox and Keri Fox; and many other family and friends including his previous wife, Janelle Poore, and many cousins and great-nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lauri Sindt
