James "Jimmy� Sirginous, 86 of Independence passed away, Mon. Apr. 10, 2006 at Independence Regional Health Center. Services will be 10:00 am Fri., Apr. 14, 2006 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Indep. MO. Burial in Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 - 8:30 pm, Thursday at the chapel. Mr. Sirginous was born on Jan 15, 1920 to Harry and Grace (Swigert) Sirginous in Kansas City, MO and was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Sirginous was a Pipe fitter with Armco Steel for 34 years retiring in 1979. He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed playing the fiddle and harmonica. He had a talent for being able to make anything and loved to share his talent by helping his family and friends. Jimmy was baptized into the Greek Orthodox Church. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and was a life member of the VFW post 1000 and the Tirey J. Ford American Legion Post 21 and had been the post commander from 1972 - 1973. He was also a member of the United Steelworkers Union, local 13. Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Frances Sirginous, a son, Harry Sirginous, his parents and a brother. He is survived by a son, Michael Sirginous and wife Stacy of Sugar Creek; two daughters, Margaret Rae and husband Del of Edgewood, NM and Patricia Rinehart and companion Butch of Independence. Four grandchildren, Dana Perry and fianc� Buddy, Chris Atwood, Larissa Huff and Melissa Laroque. Two great grandchildren, Jacob Atwood and Dalton Benedict. Three sisters, Marie Burnes of Independence, Viola Compton of Independence and Teddy Ault of Grain Valley, MO.
