Deloris Louise Sisler, 75 of Independence, MO passed away, Monday, May 5, 2014 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Cremation is planned with a memorial gathering from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the Maywood Baptist Church, 10505 E. Winner Rd., Independence, MO 64052. Private inurnment will be in Leavenworth National Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Maywood Baptist Church or to Kansas City Hospice. Deloris was born October 5, 1938 in Independence, MO to Charles and Hazel Ruth (Edie) Scovill and has been a lifelong area resident. She was a beloved wife mother and grandmother who enjoyed gardening, cooking, golfing, card and domino playing and most of all spending time with her family. She was a long time member of the Maywood Baptist Church. She had worked as a records clerk for the Independence Police Department for a number of years until she retired in 2011. Survivors include; a daughter, Kellie Sisler of Olathe, KS; a son, Curtis Sisler and wife Cathy of Independence, MO; a sister, Barbara Jones of Independence, MO and 3 grandchildren, Stephen, Nicholas and Noah. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Sisler in September of 2011, her mother Hazel Jones and her step father, Curtis Jones.
