Carol Lynn Sivils, proudly of North Kansas City, MO passed away far too soon on Sunday, January 29, 2023. She was 61. A memorial visitation will take place on Saturday, February 4th from 1-2pm with a service following at 2pm, both at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W Lexington Ave.; Independence, MO 64052.
Carol was born on August 31st, 1961, in North Kansas City, MO to Amos and Beverly (Foreman) Goodman. She graduated from Park Hill High School in 1979 and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in Project Management from Park University in 2006. Carol was employed by KCP&L, now Evergy, for 27 successful years, retiring in 2019, as Manager of Regulatory Affairs. On December 14, 1996, Carol married Cotton Sivils and together, they made North Kansas City their home. She was a board member for North Kansas City Parks and Rec and also Lighthouse Preschool. Carol also enjoyed her involvement at 1st United Methodist of North KC, MOM’s Club for Boy Scouts of America and could often be found volunteering at the Parkville Animal Shelter.
When Carol wasn’t volunteering, she could be found at estate sales, sewing or practicing Reiki. Most of all, Carol loved spending time with her family, friends, and fur babies. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Carol is survived by her beloved husband, Cotton; son, Preston Sivils; daughter, Summer Sivils; brother, Barry Goodman; half-siblings, Hank Goodman and Judy Kelly; several nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as, dog, Tessa and cats, Otis and Hamilton.
She is preceded in death by her parents; half-sisters, Pat Allison and Billie Jo Acree; and dogs, Sparky, Elvis and Buddy.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her honor to the Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter (FOPAS).
