Earl William Skolaut, 72, of Independence, MO, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2005, at Independence Regional Health Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 21, 2005, at St. Mary�s Catholic Church, 611 N. Liberty, Independence, with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Sunday, March 20, 2005 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Earl was born April 21, 1932 in Hoisington, KS. He served four years in the United States Air Force and was a training officer for the Federal Aviation Administration until his retirement in 1987. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Mary B. (Hickle) Skolaut; two brothers, Herman and Vernon Skolaut; and his daughter, Mary. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Beverly (Buser) Skolaut, of the home; son Kenneth Skolaut and daughter Karen (Alan) Short of Lee�s Summit, MO; daughters, Linda (Don) Dunaway, Laurie (Roy) Bennett, Ann (Mark) Lucas, Vicki (Allen) Rew, Independence; sisters, Irene Polson and Gladys Roller, and brothers, Paul Skolaut and James Skolaut of Wichita, KS; twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations in Earl�s memory may be made to the Sisters of St. Francis, 2100 N. Noland, Independence, MO 64050, or to St. Mary Parish.
