Albert George "Al" Smith

Albert “Al” Smith, 77, of Grain Valley, MO passed away June 11, 2017. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Funeral services will be 10am Friday at the chapel. Burial will take place in Blue Springs Cemetery. Al was born on October 1, 1939 in Kansas City, Mo to Clifford and Dorothy (Dukes) Smith. After graduation from Raytown High School, Al joined the Army where he proudly served. He was a very passionate American. Upon his return he went to work for Ford, where he would remain for over 44 years until his health forced him to retire. He enjoyed his job at Ford and he was a proud member of the UAW. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #337 in Blue Springs. Al loved to watch old western movies and the black and white westerns on television in his spare time. Survivors include; wife of over 38 years Charlene Smith; daughter Stacy Cohen and her husband Todd; step son David Gillispie; 2 grandchildren; extended family and many friends. Al is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Harry “Bud” Smith.
