Arthur Smith

Arthur Cliff Smith, 91 of Independence, MO passed away, Wed. Aug 27, 2003 at the Independence Manor Care Center. Memorial services will be 4:30 pm, Sunday, Sep 14, 2003 at the South Crysler Community of Christ Church, where a visitation will be held from 3:30 - 4:30 pm. Cremation with a Private inurnment in Mound Grove Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer�s Association or to the church. Mr. Smith was born on Oct 24, 1911 to James and Martha Smith in Waukomis, OK. He was a retired Railway Mail Clerk with the US postal service. Mr. Smith was an Army Veteran of WWII and a member of the South Crysler Community of Christ Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Smith. Arthur is survived by his wife, Mildred E. Smith of Independence, MO. Three children, Shirley Meech of Los Angeles, CA, Barrie A. Smith of Fairway, KS, and Royal Smith of Crescent, OK. Four stepchildren, Sandra Cockburn of Louisburg, KS, Kathleen Shockley of Eagan, MN, Dr. Pamela Stewart of Garden City, KS and Will Camp of Independence, MO. One sister, Helen Kendall of Enid, OK. Two grandchildren, Sony and Rachel. Six step-grandchildren, Arthur, Robert, Heather, Kristin, Sunshine and Steven.
