Beulah Ethel Smith 87, passed away May 15th 2016 with her loving family by her side. A Visitation will be held at 10 am Saturday, May 21st 2016 ,with the Memorial Service to follow at 11 am. The services will be held at the Church of the Resurrection, 601 NE Jefferson St. in Blue Springs, MO.
Beulah was born November 10, 1928 in McLouth KS, to Edgar Osborn and Louise ( Hehn ) Osborn. She attended Lawrence High School and also went to nursing school where she received her RN degree. Beulah then met Loren E. Smith also of McLouth, and they married in March of 1951. They lived briefly in Lawrence, KS, but then came to the Independence area after the birth of their three daughters. She worked for several different area hospitals, most recently Medical Center of Independence.
Beulah was a member of The Church of the Resurrection, Blue Springs. She loved sewing, crafts, and traveling. She and Loren spent eight wonderful years in a fifth wheel, visiting the great states of Texas, Arizona, and many campsites in between. Beulah is deeply loved and will be missed.
Beulah is survived by her sister Ruth Dugger of Arizona; three daughters: Fonda McMurtrey, Dena Stricker and Lori Williams ; nine grandchildren: Tonya, Brian, Amy, Shaun, Nicole, Stephanie, Joshua, Ashley and Dustin; twelve and 1/2 great-grandchildren: Braden, Kaylee, Skylar, Zander, Karsynn, Tatumn, Jamesyn, Miakah, Sierra, Mackenzie, Alexandria, Kody and one on the way; as well as a host of loving extended family.
Beulah was proceeded in death by her parents, four sisters: Doris , Thelma, Effie and Mildred as well as her late husband of 641/2 years Loren E. Smith.
