Carol Smith, 87, of Independence, MO passed away Monday, October 17, 2016. A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO, 64055. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel. Interment will follow at Blue Springs Cemetery.
Carol was born on August 19, 1929 in Kansas City, MO to Carl and Julia Rogers. She married Billy Lee Smith on January 21, 1945 in Sedalia, MO. She enjoyed fishing, camping, family vacations, and antique shopping. Most of all she enjoyed time with her grandkids. Carol will be remembered by her son Billy Smith of Warsaw, MO; daughters Debbie Blount of Dearborn, MO, Terri Meadows of Independence, MO; grandchildren Kim Cole and husband Bill, Tonya Raines and husband Mike, Nancy Allgaier and husband Danny, Becky Sapp and husband Dustin, Ryan Robertson, Kelly Seckel and husband Kevin, Daniel Robertson, Katie Robertson; and 8 great-grandchildren.
