David Paul Smith

David Paul Smith, 67 of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at North Kansas City Hospital. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Friday evening, July 31, 2020 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, Mo 645055. A graveside service at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Donations may be made in his name to Restoration to the Second Power, 2525 E. 27th St., Kansas City, MO 64127. David was born March 20, 1953 in Kansas City, MO to Edward and Betty (Goeking) Smith and has been a lifelong area resident graduating from Van Horn High School in 1971. He had worked for a number of years for the National Weather Service and retired in 2015 as a mail clerk. He enjoyed fishing and reading. He is survived by; his loving wife, Darlene of the home; 3 daughters, Jennifer Smith, Melinda Smith and Sara Magdaleno; a son, Billy Smith and many grandchildren.
