Doris Jean Smith (Moran)

Doris Smith, 96, of Kansas City, MO passed away September 23, 2019. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Tuesday October 1, 2019 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Graveside services will be 10am Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Mound Grove Cemetery. Doris was born on June 17, 1923 in Los Angeles, CA to Elmer and Jewell (Harper) Moran. The family relocated to the area when she was a small child. Doris graduated from Northeast High School and attended a local Business College. After she met and married the love of her life, Robert Smith, Doris became a stay at home mom. A job that she truly enjoyed. After the children were older she went to work at the Community of Christ Auditorium until her retirement in 1983. Doris can be described as a “lovely person”, gentle of heart, understanding and caring. In her spare time she like to knit, crochet and needlework. Survivors include: son Wayne Smith and his wife Charlotte; son Ron Smith and his wife Deborah; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; extended family and friends.
