J. Richard Smith

Dick Smith, 84, of Independence, MO passed away on November 21, 2005 at his home. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. The service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at the chapel. Dick was born on September 27, 1921 in Independence, MO to Ernest and Florence (Young) Smith. He was a veteran of Army Air Corps, serving his country proudly during WWII. Dick married the love of his life, Beth (Kincaid) Smith in 1943. He was an Elder in the Community of Christ Church, a past Boy Scouts Leader and loved to hunt. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Beth Smith; and two sons, Walt and Doug Smith; as well as many other loving family members.
