Michael Mathew "Mike" Smith

Mike Smith, 68, of Independence, MO passed away October 15, 2019. A Memorial Visitation will be 6-8pm Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Mike was born on April 29, 1951 in Independence, MO to Herbert and Twila (Cook) Smith. He was a graduate of Truman High School, just recently attending his 50th reunion. For many years Mike played drums for a 60’s cover band winning many awards. For the past 29 years Mike has been employed with Cook Brothers Insulation as a machine operator. He played competitive darts for many years, enjoyed NASCAR, and watching baseball. Mike is survived by his daughter Ellie Smith; grandson Mathew Smith; parents Herb and Twila Smith; brother Paul Smith; extended family and many friends.
