Michael Ray Smith Sr.

Michael R. Smith, Sr., of Independence, passed away April 16th, 2018. A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, April 19th, from 6-8:00pm with a memorial service Friday, April 20th at 10:00am both at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E 39th St. Independence, MO 64055. A graveside inurnment with full military honors will take place Friday, April 20th at 12:00pm at Missouri State Veteran’s Cemetery in Higginsville.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife Tricia Smith; daughters, Lashawn Smith, Britany Mollison, Tammy Veenstra and her husband James Veenstra; sons, Michael Smith Jr., Tommy Ray Smith, Christopher Mollison, David Rush Jr. and Terry Mollison; his parents Ray and Rayma Smith; 1 sister, Cynthia Swift and her husband Arnold Swift; 13 wonderful grandchildren, Lacy, Selena, Austin, Steven, Jeffrey, Aralyn, Olivia, Seth, Zayden, Wesley, Adalynn, Paizlee, with Ava on the way; 1 great grandson, Jay; nephews, Sunny Griffitt and Steve Griffitt, and a niece, Suzy Riley
