Minnie V. Smith, 93, of Independence, MO passed away on May 18, 2006 at the Independence Regional Health Center. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 22, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington, Indep., MO. The service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Carson-Speaks. Burial at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Minnie was born on August 20, 1912 in Oark, Arkansas to Nathaniel and Harriet Mayfield. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who gave each one of her family members all of her love, and was never one to complain. She will always be remembered by those who knew her as someone who truly embraced life. Minnie was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Marion Floyd Smith; four brothers, Levi, Eli, Walter and Archie; two sisters, Suzie and Bessie; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She is survived by her five daughters, Aileen Hoskins and husband Robert of Humansville, MO, Alice Deckard of Springfield, MO, Flossie Alexander and husband Larry of Independence, MO, Mary Brown of Branson, MO, and Linda Roberson and husband John of Artesia, New Mexico; two sons, Marion Smith, Jr. and wife Vickie of Maysville, MO, and David L. Smith of Sugar Creek, MO.
