Monica Elaine Smith, 57, Lee’s Summit, MO entered the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, June 11, 2013.
Monica was born January 27, 1956 in Middletown, OH the daughter of Troy and Maryanna (Mokry) Gilley. She worked for St. Luke’s Health Systems for over 28 years, serving most recently as the administrative assistant to the CEO since St. Luke’s East opened. Monica attended the Lee’s Summit Community Church, and was a faithful servant of the Lord. She enjoyed biking, sewing and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include Paul Smith her loving husband and soul mate of 37 years; daughters, Loree Lisk and husband Jason, Amber Munce and her companion Steven Countryman; son, Joseph Smith and wife Amanda; grandchildren, Owen, Ainslee, Harper, Jameson, Maxwell, Meredith, Abbigail, Autumn, Broderick and Blake; sister, Uthona Green and husband Dan; half brother, David Franzer and wife Ruth, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her infant half sister, Anna Catherine Denny; half brother, Nicholas Franzer, and her parents.
Visitation will be from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2013 at Lee’s Summit Community Church; 1440 SW Jefferson St., Lee’s Summit, MO 64081. A memorial celebration of Monica’s life will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Midwest Transplant Network or Donate Life.
