Peggy Jean Smith (Brittain)

Peggy Jean (Brittain) Smith, 89, Independence, MO passed away May 31, 2017, Memorial services will be at 2 pm, Sat., June 17 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052; cremation. Visitation will begin at 1 pm before the service at the chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to One Community Hospice, 15600 Woods Chapel Road, Suite A Kansas City, MO 64139. Peggy was born Jan. 11, 1928 in Trenton, MO and graduated from Trenton High School. She retired from Southwestern Bell in 1992 after a forty-seven year career as an operator. She enjoyed reading and traveling with her family. Peggy is survived by daughters Terri Cochrane and husband Kevin; Charla Bradley and husband Roy, all of Independence, MO; son Charlie Smith and wife Stella, Overland Park, KS; sister Lena Salisbury and husband Eddie, Kansas City, MO; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
