Richard C. Smith

Richard C. Smith, 73, of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, June 22, 2003 at Independence Regional Health Center. Services will be 10 am Thursday, June 26th at Speaks Suburban Chapel; with interment in Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 pm at the Chapel. Richard was born May 17, 1930 in Independence, MO to Paul and Geraldine Smith. He was a classical musician for most of his life, and played trumpet with the Kansas City Symphony for over 40 years. Richard is survived by his son, Steven Smith and wife Lori of Liberty, MO; grandchildren, Ryan and Maggie Smith; sister, Nancy Arnold of Overland Park, KS; and nephew, Matt Arnold.
