Robert M. Smith

Robert M. Smith passed away on December 22, 2005 in Shawnee, KS. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 27th at St. Mark�s Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 9-10:00 a.m. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Atchison, KS. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mark�s Catholic Church, 3736 Lee�s Summit Rd., Independence, MO 64055 or St. Jude�s, 2001 S. Broadway, Oak Grove, MO 64075. He was born on the banks of Stranger Creek on March 7, 1929 to Eva Baker and Frank Smith. Bob graduated from Tonganoxie High School and served in the Navy during the Korean War. He married Margery Laughlin on October 15, 1951. He co-owned the East Alton Barbershop on 23rd Street until retirement in 1985. Bob was a member of St. Mark�s Catholic Church. Mr. Smith is survived by Margery, his wife of 54 years; daughter Janice O�Brien (Edward) with grandchildren Maggie and Ed of Ballwin, MO; son Patrick Smith with grandsons Seamus, Kevin, Sean and Rory of Overland Park, KS. He is also survived by siblings Frances Moore of Lawrence, Mary Ketchum and Herbert Smith of Tonganoxie, KS and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings Wanda Robb and Joe Smith.
