Roger D. Smith passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2021. Roger was born to Clarence T. and Mary J. (Lanham) Smith, April 27th, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri.
Roger graduated from Washington High School and served our country in the United States Army.
Roger married the love of his life Connie Dunnington and from that union brought forth two children, Tom and Tammy. He was a lover of all animals, especially pigeons and doves, which he raised and was very active in training and competing for KC Pigeon Club for Roller Pigeons.
Roger is survived by his wife of 52 years Connie; children Tom and Tammy; grandchild Coby; brothers, Rick (Sharon) Smith, and Ray Smith; sister Diane Erwin; nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence T. and Mary J. Smith.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday June 29th, 2021 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E 39th St S, Independence, Missouri, 64055. Interment to follow at Blue Springs Cemetery, Blue Springs, MO.
