Tammy Smith, 45, of Lee’s Summit, MO peacefully passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012 surrounded by her family. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 501 NE MO Rd., Lee’s Summit, MO 64086. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made at the time of the service, for a fund being established in Tammy’s name. Tammy was born March 15, 1967 in Pine Bluff, AR to Jimmy and Carolyn (Phillips) Davenport. She was an active and faithful member of the church. For 17 years, Tammy was part of the staff at Lee’s Summit Elementary School where she loved the kids like her own. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the lake. Tammy is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Tim Smith; son Adam; special nephew Tyler; father Jimmy Davenport and his wife Laura; brother Rex; and sister Christy; in-laws Terry and Bonnie Smith; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Mike and Janice Smith; special niece KayLee; grandmother Maxine Phillips; and by a host of additional nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Carolyn and her grandfather Chester Phillips.
