Vivian Smith, 76, of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017. Graveside service will be at 2pm on Friday, November 3, 2017 at New Salem Cemetery and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Vivian was born on February 26, 1941 in Ventura, CA to Harold Lewis and Mildred (Meek) Decker. After finishing high school, she worked as a floral designer for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed horses and gardening. She earned several awards in barrel racing and horsemanship. Most of all she loved Jesus and her family.
Vivian will be remembered by her sons Todd Smith of San Diego, CA and Darren Smith of Independence, MO; daughter Gloriana Smith and husband Aaron of Oak Grove, MO; grandchildren Jessica Smith, Katelyn Welcher (Logan), Noah Smith, Jacob Smith, and Elizabeth Smith; great-granddaughter Vivian Stonecipher; her mother Mildred Decker; brother Warner “Chip” Mandeville (Claire); sisters Bonnie Decker and Sandra Mandeville; plus several extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Parkview Community of Christ Church in Blue Springs, MO.
