Lila Eileen Snead

Lila Eileen Snead, 54, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at Pleasant Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center after a courageous battle with Huntington�s Disease. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at St. Mark�s Catholic Church. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m., Monday, October 23, 2006 at Speaks Suburban Chapel where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 7611 State Line, Ste 200, Kansas City, MO 64114. Lila was born June 14, 1952 in Auburn, NE to Albert W. and Emma E. (Jones) McFerrin. She was a 1970 graduate of Ruskin High School and attended business training school in Aurora, CO. Lila was a devoted and loving mother and homemaker. She was a professional singer performing in various clubs around Kansas City, she loved music, and two-step country dancing. She lived in Colorado for eleven years and was a fan of John Elway and the Denver Broncos. Lila is survived by her daughter Kelly Snead; mother Emma McFerrin; sister Patricia Mellas and husband Ray; brother Philip McFerrin and wife Katy; sister-in-law Patricia McFerrin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Albert in 1973 and her brother Ronald W. McFerrin in 1995. The family would like to thank the staff of Pleasant Hill Health & Rehabilitation for the excellent and loving care they provided. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
