Sondra Lee Green, whose gentle spirit and great sense of humor touched the lives of many, passed away on February 20, 2024, in North Kansas City. Born on November 6, 1951, in Independence, Missouri, to Lee Wayne and Dixie Alene (McLaughlin) Kelley, she was a lifelong resident.
Throughout her life, she found joy in gardening - tending to both flower and vegetable plants brought her immense happiness. She also enjoyed challenging her mind with crossword puzzles and had a love for hunting from her younger years. One of Sondra's proudest accomplishments was raising chickens, ducks, and turkeys out of her backyard - a testament to her unwavering dedication, nurturing nature, and hard work. However, her greatest joy came from the moments spent with her family, especially her cherished grandchildren.
Sondra will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her. She is survived by her children Jennifer Corteville (Brian), Michael Holland (Vicky McCoy), and Cindie Arellano, as well as grandchildren: Kylee Dyer, Kellan Corteville, Timothy Radford, Hayley Radford, Savanna Radford, Madison Holland, and Sarah Holland. She is preceded in death by her late husbands, James Holland and Jim Green; son, Robert Holland; and parents, Lee Wayne and Dixie Alene Kelley.
The visitation to honor Sondra's life will take place on February 26th at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will follow on February 27th at the same location starting at 10:00 AM. She will then be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery following the service. All are welcome to attend.
Sondra's kind heart and joyful spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her best. May she rest in peace as her memory lives on through the love she shared with all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
