Nancy Lou Spencer, 90, passed away on August 7, 2020 in Raymore, MO.
Nancy was born on June 28, 1930, in Carrollton, MO, the daughter of Sherman W. Brockmeier and Ruth Rhea Brockmeier. She graduated from Chillicothe High School in the class of 1948, and shortly thereafter married Wilbur Wayne Spencer. To their union were born four children.
Nancy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She and her family made many happy memories at the Lake of the Ozarks. She did volunteer work at Blue Springs Baptist Church – IMPACT Ministries, and she was a member of Country Meadows Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed making crafts.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, “Spence,” her son Mitch Spencer, and her siblings Fred Brockmeier, Bob Horton, George Horton, and Phyllis Marrs.
She is survived by her children, Linda Schafer (Mike), Jim Spencer (Marcia) and Karen Spencer (Mark Elliott), six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and a sister Sue Albrecht.
A visitation will be held from 9:30am-10:30am Wednesday, August 12, at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. in Independence, MO. A graveside service will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Independence.
In her honor, contributions may be made to Country Meadows Baptist Church.
