Robert W. Spencer

Robert W. Spencer, 81, of Lansdowne, VA formerly of Independence, MO passed away September 18, 2004 after a sudden illness. Memorial service to celebrate his life will be October 1, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Friends may visit with the family immediately following the memorial service. Private burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Salvation Army Disaster Relief Fund in his honor. Bob grew up in Independence, MO and graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1942. He served in the 527th Engineer LPCO in the U.S. Army, in Europe, during WWII. H attended Graceland College and Central Missouri State College. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1986. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church since 1934. Bob is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lois Rounds Spencer; daughter and son-in-law, Jill Spencer-Garcia and Roberto Garcia and grandson Adam V. Garcia all of Burke, VA; Brother Neil Eckart and sister, Donna Ashley both of Independence, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
