Dr. Earle G. Sperry of Independence, MO died peacefully at home while surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, May 30, 2006. Dr. Sperry was born August 5, 1917 in Avon, CT to Horace A. Sperry and Ethel M. Sperry. He graduated from Bridgeport College, Bridgeport, CT, and received his doctor�s degree from Still College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery, Des Moines, IA in 1942, and completed his internship at the Osteopathic Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Dr. Sperry was on the staff of Osteopathic Hospital, Doctor�s Hospital, and a founder of Park Lane Medical Center. He was a life Member of the American Osteopathic Association, and a life member of the Missouri Osteopathic Association. He practiced family medicine in Independence from 1946 until his retirement in 1996. Those who knew him will remember his devotion to his patients. He was an Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII. Dr. Sperry was actively involved with the Boy Scouts of America, having received their 50 year veteran service award in January 1981. He was Scout Master of Troop #206 for over 30 years, was an Eagle Scout, and Sachem Swirling Mist in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Mary W. Sperry of the home; sons David G. Sperry and wife Kathleen, Independence, MO; Dr. Brent A. Sperry and wife Shannon, Homestead, FL; grandchildren Michael D. Sperry and Erin E. Sperry; and sister-in-law Myrtle Sperry, Calhoun, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, 3000 Independence Boulevard, Kansas City, MO 64124, in Memory of Earle G. Sperry, D.O..
