W. Norine Sperry, 89, Independence, MO died Sept. 3, 2005 at Independence Regional Health Center. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm, Sat., Sept. 10, 2005 at Walnut Gardens Community of Christ, 19201 R.D. Mize Rd, Independence, MO. Family visitation will follow the service. The family suggests contributions to the Community of Christ Temple Endowment Fund. Norine was born Nov. 22, 1915 in Toronto, Canada. For 15 years, she served as a secretary at the Community of Christ World Headquarters in Independence, MO. For the past 30 years she generously volunteered her time to her church, the Child Abuse Prevention Association, Laotian Ministries, and most recently at the Community of Christ Temple Library. At her request, Norine�s body has been donated to KU Medical Center in the interest of medical research. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sperry in 1998. She is survived by son Grant McMurray and wife Joyce, Independence; daughter Donna Sperry and husband Lauren, Lake Winnebago, MO; grandchildren Jeffrey McMurray, Brian McMurray and wife Lyda, Monica Bradford and husband Steve, Beth Sperry and great-grandson Parker Bradford. Her family and friends will always remember her gentle spirit and unconditional love. A lifelong member of the Community of Christ, she was sustained in difficult times by an unwavering faith. Her life is a lasting testimony to beauty, perseverance, and love.
