Gabriel David "Gabe" Spiva

Gabriel D. Spiva, 31, Independence, MO, died June 4, 2016. Memorial services will be 3 pm, Sat., June 11 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence MO 64055; cremation. Visitation will begin at 1 pm before the service at the chapel. Please wear red – Gabe’s favorite color. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the Down’s Syndrome Guild of Kansas City, 5960 Dearborn, Ste. #100, Mission, KS 66202. Gabriel was born Dec. 28, 1984 in Kansas City, MO. He worked at Binswinger Auto Glass in Independence. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, listening to music, drawing and spending family time. He was a man people looked up to and was a protector of children. Gabriel is survived by his wife Brandilyn Spiva; daughters Elliana and Charlee Spiva, all of the home; son Seth Spiva, Streator, IL; father David Spiva; mother Doris Simpson and step-father Kevin Simpson; all of Independence, MO; sister Tisha Spiva, Blue Springs, MO and three nephews.
