Katherine Jo Spoon, 53 of Kansas City, passed away on Sept. 6, 2013, at her residence.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, Sept. 13, 2013 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO 64052.
Kathy was born on August 2, 1960, the daughter of Kenneth and Marilyn (Barr) Walters.
She was a 1978 graduate of Van Horn High School. Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family, playing with her grandchildren, watching the birds and gardening.
She is survived by the love of her life of 35 years, Pat Spoon, of the home in Kansas City; one daughter, Sara Pace and her husband Cody, Indep; one son, Patrick K. Spoon, Sr., Indep; five grandchildren, Breannah, Baylee, Brooklynn, and Scarlett Katherine Pace, and Patrick K. Spoon, Jr.; her father, Kenneth Walter, Warsaw; two sisters, Teresa Jacks and Connie Bentley, both of Indep.
She is preceded in death by her mother, a granddaughter Lizzy Lynn Pace, twin nieces, Jacklyn and Alexandra Bentley; grandmother, Emma Ellis; grandfather and grandmother Walters; and mother-in-law, Helen Spoon, and her beloved dog, Nico Blue.
