Shawn Stancil

Shawn Lynn Mayo Stancil, 52, Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2010.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 20, 2010 at Smithville Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday at Carson-Speaks Funeral Home; 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Shawn’s memory. Make checks payable to Lucinda Clark.

Shawn was born December 5, 1957 in Kansas City, MO the daughter of Marvin T. and Joanna S. (Crigler) Mayo. She was a 1976 graduate of Wm Chrisman High School. Shawn worked for Comprehensive Mental Health in Human Resources and as a Tax Clerk with the IRS. She loved reading the bible and doing daily devotions. She was a member of the Loving God Evangel Ministries. Shawn always made time for her family and enjoyed volunteering at her children’s schools. She was known by many as Mom.

Shawn was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Mayo and her grandparents.

Survivors include her loving husband, Mark D. Stancil; daughters, Amber Lucia Stancil; Courtney Roberts and her husband Wes; Katelyn and Samantha Collobert; son, Chris Collins; grandchildren, Justin and Kash Albert; mother, Joanna Mayo; sister, Judy Drummond and her husband David; and aunt, Jean Gray.
