Gary A. Stanley

Gary A. Stanley, 69, Des Moines, IA, formerly of Raytown, MO, passed away March 3, 2020. Services will be 2:00 pm, Monday, March 9 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052; interment at Brooking Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm before the service at the chapel.
Gary was born July 11, 1950 to Melvin and Ailean (Coleman) Stanley in Kansas City, MO. He attended Raytown High School before joining the U.S. Marine Corps and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a truck driver for IMT Trucking. He lived in Des Moines for the last twenty-eight years. He was Harley Davidson owner and a member of the HOGS and was a NASCAR fan.
Gary was preceded in death by brother Billy Stanley and sister Carolyn Sue. He is survived by sons Richard Stanley and wife Lisa, Independence, MO; Chris Stanley and wife Shelby; daughter Pam Schafer and husband Mark; brothers Bruce Stanley; Roger Stanley, all of Kansas City, MO and four grandchildren.
