Rosemma was born in Oak Grove, MO as one of six children to Lester D. and Dorothy H. (Pierson) Butler. She was quite the athlete in her youth, participating in volleyball and basketball. After high school she met Eugene B. Stanley. They married on November 8, 1958 and together raised five children. She was passionate about her family. Rose and her husband loved camping; especially with their grandchildren. One of their favorite places was Estes Park in Colorado. As a woman of strong Christian faith, she was an ordained Elder of the Community of Christ Church. She hosted puppet shows ministering to children, and was a youth group leader for teenage girls. Her faith and family were two of the most important things in her life. She is remembered as funny and quick witted; always wanting to make others laugh. Rosemma is loved and will be missed.
She leaves behind sons, David Stanley (Scherrie) Oak Grove, MO; Brian Stanley (Carolyn) of Bellevue, WA; daughters, Deborah Callahan of Lee’s Summit, MO; Teresa Hurley of Belton, MO; and son, Robert Alley (Madel) of Henderson, KY; nine grand children; and four great grandchildren.
