Georgia L. “Cookie” (Mikulich) Stanton, 62, Independence, MO passed away June 8, 2012. A memorial service will be held at 7 pm Monday, June 18 at the First Baptist Church of Independence, 500 W. Truman Rd., Independence MO 64050; cremation.
Cookie was born Oct. 14 1949 in Independence and was a life-long resident. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in the Class of 1967 and earned an Associates Degree at Kansas City Kansas Community College in Computer Programming. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Independence and a member of the Women at the Table group at church. She loved to travel and spent time at Truman Lake and on the Alabama Gulf visiting her son, John.
Cookie is survived by daughter Shelley Porter and husband Jeff, Independence, MO; son John Friend and wife Monica, Sugar Creek, MO; daughter Stephanie May and husband Jami, Independence, MO; sisters Kathy Robben and husband Phil, Kansas City, KS; Mary Stevenson and husband Jerry, Independence, MO; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; step-mother Bobbie Mikulich-Cole; special friend Carl Irwin, both of Independence, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
