Gladys Steele

Gladys L. Steele, 94, of Kansas City, MO was born September 25, 1919. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Jan. 18, 2014. Gladys was born in Blue Springs, to Joseph and Bertie Cole, where her grandfather had been a settler of the area. Gladys had been a long time member of Besonia Baptist Church and was a Sunday school teacher there. She is preceded by her husband Thomas L. Steele and stepdaughter Carol Faulkner. Survivors include sons Jerry L. Steele and wife Donna, Robert J. Steele and wife Debbie, stepson Thomas H. Steele and wife Elisha, 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews. A very special thanks to John Knox Village Hospice nurse Amanda Dombrowski and Crossroads Hospice Services. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00 p.m. followed by a 2:00 p.m. service on Wednesday, January 22, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Burial, Floral Hills Cemetery.
