Wayne Eugene Steinhauser, 90 of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021 at his residence. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Woodlawn Cemetery with full military honors. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055. Wayne was born February 19, 1931 in Independence, MO to John M. and Rene Pearl (Pike) Steinhauser and has been a lifelong area resident. He graduated from William Chrisman High School and Kansas City Junior College in 1959. He went to work for the Standard Oil Company and served a 5-year apprenticeship to become a machinist. Wayne had then worked as a field service supervisor of mechanical refinery, gasoline manufacturing equipment for Stratco Engineering Corporation for 38 years. He supervised the repair of equipment traveling extensively throughout the United States and 42 countries. He retired on April 1, 1996. Wayne became an Eagle Scout on September 16, 1948 and was a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. His son, David and his grandson Blake were also scouts. He was in Troop #231 at First United Methodist Church in Independence where he was a lifelong member. He married Betty Ann Blake on June 3, 1951 and they were married for 70 years and she survives him of the home. Other survivors include; 2 children, David Wayne Steinhauser and wife Betty Lou and Diana Kay Middleton and husband Joe; 2 grandchildren, Blake Vaughn (Kristal) and Amanda Charlene (Michael); 3 great grandchildren, Aliana Jolie, Karalena and Levi William and 2 step grandchildren, Cory Modgling (Windy) and Brandy Modgling (Dave).
