John Joseph Stephens, Jr., 50 of Blue Springs, MO passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at his residence. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday September 25, 2017 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052 with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday evening at the chapel. John was born July 16, 1967 in Independence, MO to John J. and Melody (Clark) Stephens and has been a lifelong area resident graduating from Blue Springs High School in 1986. He was a foreman for TempCon Inc. for a number of years. He enjoyed bowling and shooting pool and was a member of the BCA Pool League and the Monday Night Men’s League at Lunar Bowl in Blue Springs, MO. Survivors include; 2 daughters, Ashley Stumfoll of Blue Springs, MO and Peyton Stephens of Independence, MO; his father, John J. Stephens and his wife Sandy of Sugar Creek, MO; his mother, Melody Goodwin and her husband Paul of Hermitage, MO; 3 sisters, Kim Wiegers and husband Shawn of Independence, MO Latisha Foster of Independence, MO and Amy Gregory and husband Brian of Olathe, KS; a brother, Bobby Foster of Kansas City, MO; 3 grandchildren, Emma, Harlee and Lily; his grandmother, Mary Stephens of Sugar Creek, MO 6 nephews and 4 nieces.
