Leonard Stephenson, 92, of Camdenton, MO, formerly of Independence died March 3, 2020. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00 p.m. followed by a 2:00 p.m. service on Tuesday, March 10, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Burial at Salem Cemetery with Military Honors. Leonard was born March 28, 1927 in Atherton, MO, and lived in Independence, MO before moving to Camdenton in 1989. He had several jobs, the last one being at Bridal Cave for 20 years. He was an Army Veteran of WWII. He served in the Army and retired as a command Sgt. Major in 1987. He was past worthy Grand Patron of MO Eastern Star in 2010, belonging to two chapters: Hermitage and Erie Star, and was very active in both. Leonard is survived by daughter, Donna Sue Parrish (Larry); brother-in-law, Dale Edwards; two nieces; two nephews; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many great friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Doris Marie Stephenson (1988); grandson, Brian Lee McCall (2009); and seven siblings. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Eastern Star, The Masons, Wounded Warriors; or an animal shelter.
