Helen Stewart

Helen Stewart, 89, of Independence, MO passed away September 29, 2012 at the Rosewood Health Center. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the Suburban Chapel with burial to follow at Mound Grove Cemetery. Helen was born November 29, 1922 in Independence, MO to Lane Carson and Lottie M. (Barnhard) Bolt. She graduated from William Chrisman High School. Helen was a life-long member of the Community of Christ Cornerstone Congregation. Her passion in life was her family, and she absolutely loved making her grandchildren smile. Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, J. Glen Stewart; daughter, Janice Sue Stewart; and sister, Ruth Jeanette Hitchcock. She is survived by her two children, Sharon Barackman and her husband Bruce of Bradenton, FL and Chuck Stewart of Baltimore, MD; one brother, Darrell Lane Bolt and his wife Parealee of Independence, MO; four grandchildren, Christopher Stewart, Holly Hesse, Kimberly McFate, and Brian Betts; and great grandchildren, Jaxon Hesse, Alex Betts, Krista Betts, Caleb Betts, Ryan Urbanski, Tyler McFate and Ashley McFate; and many other loving family members and friends.
